Great Harwood Circuit Events

Thursday 30th May Sunday 9th June

Join the global wave of prayer calling all Christians to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus Christ

What started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England, has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.

During the 11 days of Thy Kingdom Come, it is hoped that everyone who participates will deepen their friendship with Jesus, bring others to know Jesus or know him better, and come to know that every aspect of their life is the stuff of prayer.

All online material and resources for use are available via the Thy Kingdom Come website and paper copies of the Personal Prayer Handbook and Methodist Novena Prayer booklet are available in the churches.

 

Please read on and join in the events across the Circuit to encourage us to pray:

 

Thursday (30 May)

8am-9am Rishton MC Morning Prayer.

Come along anytime between 8am and 9am

and begin your day with God.

Friday (31 May)

7pm-8pm Rishton Prayer Walk.

Join us on our walk pausing at various places to pray for the community we serve.

 

Saturday (1 June)

9-10am BIG (Prayer) Breakfast at Rishton MC,

followed by Prayer outside Rishton Library, an opportunity to offer prayer to passers-by in Rishton High Street!

 

Sunday (2 June)

10.30am Morning Worship at Trinity, Rishton and Clayton

will include aspects of Thy Kingdom Come Pledge2Pray.

 

Monday (3 June)

9pm-10pm Evening Prayer at Rishton MC.

Gather anytime between 9pm and 10pm to end the day in prayer.

 

Tuesday (4 June)

9am -3.30pm Rishton MC.

Rishton Methodist School Spirituality Day

The school pupils will be visiting the church throughout the day to explore together different ways of praying. Every school child has been given a Family Prayer Adventure Map to share at home.

Pop in and see all the creative ways we can pray.

Thursday (6 June)

9am -10am Trinity URC MC Morning Prayer.

Come along anytime between 9am and 10am

to begin your day with God.

7pm Churches Prayer Walk at Clayton Le Moors,

beginning at All Saints Parish Church.

Join us on our walk pausing at various places to pray for the community we serve.

Friday (7 June)

9am-9pm Prayer Partners (See sign up sheet)

Join up with a friend and agree to meet for an hour between 9am and 9pm to pray together, at church, at home, or somewhere different!

 

Sunday (9 June)

10.30am Morning Worship at Trinity, Rishton and Clayton 10.30am for Pentecost Sunday

Prayers of thanksgiving for
