Churches Together in Rishton - What we do cc
As a Churches Together Group we meet three times a year in January, May and September to plan our events. All are welcome to attend and share their ideas. A United Service follows these meetings and other United Services are held during the year.

We share together in an International Food Night arranged by, and held at St Charles.
February /March/April Lent Groups when we meet together each Sunday to share discussion on a theme We have in the past used the York Course, one year we based discussion on a film while another year we had speakers from community groups.
On Palm Sunday we have a joint parade to place the cross on the Esplanade following morning services.
Easter Day an evening Service at St Charles Pascal Vespers followed by a shared supper.
Easter Monday A five mile ramble organized by the Methodist Church
May Christian Aid week House to house collection
July Rishton Festival where in the past we have had a Fair Trade stall and the Christian Fellowship have crafts and a puppet show. Many of our church members are also involved in various community and charity groups in Rishton, and work with them during the festival.
We join the Parade with our Churches Together Banner.
November United Remembrance Service in the morning held alternately at The Parish Church or St Charles but with all our Clergy involved, followed by a parade to the War Memorial for the Act of Remembrance at 11am.
Advent Week Joint Primary Schools Advent Service We have 3 church-based primary schools in Rishton and it is good to share this special service together.
December Carols by the Christmas tree as the Christmas lights are switched on and
the Christmas Crib is dedicated
Carol Singing around Rishton followed by potato pie supper at the Methodist Church.
Lancashire Sings Christmas with Radio Lancashire, celebrated in the Roebuck Inn
We have also organized social events in the past but not on a regular basis.
The Flower Festivals every 3/4 years - our last one, after a rather longer break, evolved into a Flower and Craft Festival and took place in September 2013
